I just asked. If I had felt that they were a good case I wouldn't have done so, instead contacting the admins directly for them to make a call ;-)

I don't know if this takes any pressure off of this site or not, but because of their contribution to the development of jazz-rock, we included Cream in the Jazz-Related Rock section at this site's associated jazz site.
If you want to write reviews of Cream records or promote their legacy etc, you can do it here: http://www.jazzmusicarchives.com/ Edited by js (Easy Money) - February 23 2012 at 08:05 |

Based on Rush's Feedback album, Cream was a huge influence on Rush, so that might make them proto-Heavy Prog. Maybe I should volunteer to sponsor them and bring them to the Admins as a suggestion for Proto Prog. Edited by rushfan4 - February 23 2012 at 08:16 |

Personally, I would classify them as proto.

I suggest of doing the proposal with team for larger arguments (proto conspiracy) - their psychedelic freak out innovations documented to "Live I" & "Live II" LP's, carefully constructed albums "Disraeli Gears" & double pairs of live and studio "Wheels of Fire" along with stoned epic film "Farewell Concert 1968" have many factors supporting their valid proto inclusion. The mentioned blues elements of this group shouldn't be a problem after listening Pink Floyd's mid-70's albums, which mostly are built from slow basic blues rock marred with neat space effectz |

We're from another planet. Buncha damned prog rock snobs over here. Edited by Slartibartfast - February 23 2012 at 19:32 |
