Yes, but you can't argue about the Lions' consistency. It is absolutely amazing how they find new and inventive ways to lose games. I mean, it's been like that for half a century. You remember the 63 yard field goal kicked by a guy with no toes?

I am pretty certain that the Lions have to be the only team in history to lose a game because of a missed extra point. I can't remember all of the details but as I recall while playing the Minnesota Vikings a number of years back they had a rare come from behind touchdown on the final play of the game to come within one point of tying the game and sending it to overtime. I believe that it was probably Jason Hanson who had kicked like a thousand extra points in a row and the snapper flubbed the snap and the holder dropped it. Extra point missed. |

^ The saints did it too. It was after an epic lateral fest at the end of the game verses the jags...not a bad snap either...just a sheer miss of an extra point.

Oh yeah...all that excitement and luck to get the last second lateral stuff to work...then deflation.
And lol at that list. It's stuff like that that makes me root for the Lions to at least have some success. I remember the QB running out of the back of the endzone...it was amazing...didn't realize they only lost by two points that game though. |

I thought the curse of Bobby Layne was lifted, because he said the Lions wouldn't win in 50 years, in 1958.
Thus 2008 would be the end an in 09 Matt Stafford was drafted who played in the same HS as Layne (!) so pretty much this dude has to be viewed as the second coming for you guys, prophesized from God Layne himself  Maybe today is the day! The Pack are sans Rodgers and Lions are deff improved (though lacking toughness). I'll be pulling for them to finally get a turkey day win. Though sucks you got to play Flynn and not Tolzien. Wow, blowout would've been even bigger if it wasn't for early sloppiness. If the Lions can keep mistakes away that offense can be unstoppable.

Scary helmet to helmet hit by that Raven. I hate when they do that
freeze, the body goes totally stiff and their hands open up. Glad he got
up...usually that is followed by someone being carted off the field :(
Also considering how hitting someone within the upper body area is a penalty kinda shocked that went uncalled. Decent games today. Regardless, nothing like kicking back, doing nothing and watching football. |

Best part of the day was the fourth quarter of the Lions/Packers game, mainly because that was the point where I could fully enjoy the game, knowing that they were going to win. Best game I've seen them play in a while, despite the four turnovers (that has to stop, though.)

Pains me to say but Romo really is having a great year, maybe best of his career and I think in recent years he really has greatly improved his game. Not to mention has carried the team, they'd be much worse without him.
Speaking of which, holy sh*t the Packers are worthless without Rodgers. Without turnovers imagine how bad that game would've been?? On the flip side, if Detroit can keep mistakes down and play with more maturity imagine how beastly they can be. But tis the NFL I guess, QBs make so much $$ by default they have to run the team, and quality backups don't really exist unless you can draft one. |

Just now getting to the Turkey day Stiller game. I believe the fork is preparing to be placed in the Steelers arse now.
I don't think Tomlin's action was deliberate....in the beginning, but as the play got closer he did not move but sort of looked over his shoulder. I don't think it would have made any difference other than a few yards as the defender was about to pounce on him anyway.
This may not be the place to post for a college game, but the Bama Auburn game was very entertaining to watch with many big unreal plays...enjoyed it.
