^ Julien, in my opinion it's not a good solution.
These releases were compiled of live tracks so Live is also a proper category. Imagine, you're new to Yes and want to start from some Best Of compilation, you choose one of these CDs and get not what you wanted. On the contrary, if someone needs to have a look how the band sounds live Compilations is the last place to search for these albums. I prefer to keep them as they were.

the Van der Graaf Generator album "The Quiet Zone/The Pleasure Dome" has the wrong track listing for the bonus tracks. "Ship of Fools" has to be track 11 and the instrumental demo of "The Wave" track 12. source: Peter Hammill's homepage "Sofa Sound"; here the link for the album: |

^^ Nice debate. It could be long...
Take Genesis for example: only 6 live releases on PA -
They are proper shows/tours. Then you have compilations with live tracks, like Genesis Live 1973-2007 (2009). But I guess you could also be right. Let's look at them one by one: Yes - Extended Versions is a compilation album of live tracks from Yes - Keys to Ascension 1. So I think it would be strange to have both "Extended Versions" and "Keys to Ascension 1" in the same live category. Roundabout: The Best Of Yes - Live is a compilation album of live tracks from House of Yes: Live From the House of Blues. Same situation as above. Yes - Astral Traveller (The BBC Sessions) is just a compilation of live tracks from BBC Sessions 1969-1970 Something's Coming. Same situation as above. But this one feels less like a "compilation" to me, maybe more like a "reissue", so it could stay under the "live" category?? Now it's your call...

According to this page : Tracks 10-12 are bonus tracks. Tracks 11 & 12 have incorrectly switched positions on the album's tracklisting. Track 11 is a demo version, previously unreleased Track 12 is the B-side of a single, originally released as Charisma 6837 441 in France only, September 1977. Also here : The 2005 reissue added some B-sides and a demo. The last two of these, "The Wave" and "Ship of Fools", were labelled the wrong way around on the CD packaging. So I believe the album page on PA is correct. Thanks anyway!

I would move (keep) them all in Live category and add in Releases Info where the tracks were taken from. "Extended Versions" was a budget series of live records, for example there is a Deep Purple CD (now in Compilations). Think what we usually consider compilations: 1. Best Ofs. 2. Collections of rarities. 3. Best Ofs with some new or previously unreleased songs. Reduced versions of live albums, at least in my world, are not compilations. I can live if they stay in Compilations though.

^ OK, so here is my decision:
Yes - Extended Versions is a compilation. Roundabout: The Best Of Yes - Live is a compilation. Yes - Astral Traveller (The BBC Sessions) is a live album. Changes were made. Hope we all agree...

just two things: 1st: Peter Hammill should know best, don't you agree? and 2nd: we have the album with the bonus tracks. track 11 is "Ship of Fools" and track 12 is the demo version of "The Wave"

^ There is an error on the packaging (tracks listing on the back cover). Please listen to your CD. You will realize that track 11 is in fact the demo of "The Wave", which is track 5 on the same CD. I know, because I also have this CD!
I just added a note on the album page. Take care...

^^ I think the note "Tracks 11 and 12 were labelled the wrong way around on the CD packaging" on the album page makes it clear.

Hi! I am the the songwriter and producer behind Swedish act Violent Silence. The biography on the page is both outdated and contains factual errors, could you please change this to: Swedish act VIOLENT SILENCE was formed as the creative vehicle of composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Johan Hedman. Violent Silence has made four albums to date, the self titled debut album from 2003, "Kinetic" (2005)," A Broken Truce" (2013), and "Twilight Furies" in november 2020. Also, the photo shown in connection with the biography is outdated and only shows previous members, I tried to attach a more recent photo but it didn't work for some reason. If you could help me with that I'd be most grateful. Thank you in advance! Kind regards, Johan/Violent Silence

^ Hi Johan,
thanks for letting us know. There was a thread where Admins recommended us to make changes on artists' pages only with the original writers' approval. It's not a big problem though. Old bio was too short and said nothing about the band. The new one gives actual discography (useless thing because everyone may see albums on the band's page), but adds almost nothing to the old one. A better way would be a short band's history (key members, influences, what's so special in their music etc.). Please let us know if you'd like to prepare a proper bio. If not, we'll replace one useless text with another useless one. As for the photo, you may post here the link to new band's photo.

Ha-ha! I do get your Point. I've done like this on the Violent Silence Facebook page, what do you think? Violent Silence biography Swedish act VIOLENT SILENCE was formed as the creative vehicle of composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer Johan Hedman. Violent Silence has made four albums to date, the self titled debut album from 2003, "Kinetic" (2005)," A Broken Truce" (2013), and "Twilight Furies" in november 2020. "Violent Silence represent a playful crossover music, rich with nuance, that combine heavy propulsive rhythms with aerilly lyrical passages. All in a great number of original arrangements, frequently with different themes and rhythm patterns that are ingeniously contrasted with each other. Violent Silence clearly makes for a colorful and eventful listening experience, from a band that gives a surprisingly mature impression."....Upsala Nya Tidning.... "More progressive than progressive rock, more intense than whatever, the art which Violent Silence proposes is neither easily describable nor comparable to anything else. The songs prove to be stuffed with genius and class... Do you want to discover a really original group? Here is one!"....Zicazic.... "Violent Silence are widely touted as being the 'next big thing' in Swedish progressive rock circles"....DPRP.... "A master stroke, no less"....Prog-résiste.... "In a musical climate dominated by stereotypical bands that infinitely repeat things made by others, Violent Silence forcefully demonstrate that they are a great new band."....Rock Impressions.... "If Kinetic does not yield the band some major attention and give them a major push to the forefront of progressive music, then I would be very surprised, not to mention disappointed."....Sea of Tranquility.... "Loaded with polyrhythmic song structures and melodically original compositions, the talented Swedes have managed to record a genuinely progressive album....highly recommended for anyone wishing to hear something different in the progressive genre that is all too often self-imitable and only progressive in a generic sense... In short, a work of indisputable musical brilliance."....Metal Discovery.... "Violent Silence is a TRUE progressive group, hear all! Their music is completely in opposition to suitabilities while borrowing from many different styles. The delicacy of the keyboards, alternating sounds of vibraphones and moog, in combination with the rhythmic power and the great voice of the singer all makes for an astonishing mixture."....Koid 9 Magazine.... "Progressive rock with balls!"....Prog-Nose.... "This is, and I stress this emphatically, one of the most original and most astonishing albums of the quarter and thus a group moreover to follow."....Harmonie Magazine.... Wonderful music that should appeal to both fans of old symphonic rock music and also perhaps to other rockers who only like some prog. The quality is obvious."....Ragazzi.... "In short, Violent Silence incontestably provides an album full of class and virtuosity"....Metal Chroniques... |

^ Thanks, it's infinitely better!
And quite original - the whole bio consists of quotes from different sources. I've contacted the genre team and if they'll say yes (I see no reasons for them to say no) will replace the bio. How do I credit you as a writer - by your forum nick or you'd like to provide your real name?

Thanks, done. Crossover Team approved the change. I only excluded these quotes (as not too informative): "A master stroke, no less"....Prog-résiste.... "In short, Violent Silence incontestably provides an album full of class and virtuosity"....Metal Chroniques...

line-up does not match what is printed on the record sleeve. Is this because someone knows the truth or is it simply an error by Progarchives? My copy has... Craig Pruess - piano, trumpet & synthesizer Nigel Robinson - drums Ray Deefholts - guitar Joe Duoziak - bass John Mason is only credited for lyrics
