Hi mates, I've just added the same album 10 times. I have an internet issue and I was getting "connection timeout" so I have tried several times in about 1 hour. I was also unable to enter the band's page.

It's the new SOT release: "Monster Master".

I've PMd Keishiro to fix the disaster that I've made, but just in case there's another admin around...

^ Sure, complete info now transferred to old entry. New entry will be deleted soon by admins.

There are two versions of Peter Hammill's compilation album titled "Il Rock". I unknowingly added a second version, that has updated information and a more authentic album title. Possibly this new version can be kept, or the information added on the new version can be transferred to the other one?

Version 1 - http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=51407
Version 2 - http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=76872

^ Oops, I just contacted Keishiro!

And I'm also wondering if we should keep the correct entry under Live albums, or move it to EPs...

It is really short and maybe not so "official" or "mainstream". What do you think?

There appears to be two versions of Syd Barrett's The Peel Sessions. I believe Example 1 should be kept.

The Peel Sessions (Example 2) - http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=24091

^ Greg (Logan) just confirmed to me that only M@X can delete artists. So I think the best solution would be to replace this entry #12185 with another new artist. I'm looking at you: rivertreenogbad_the_badrdtprogcristikenethlevinesean trane, etc. Wink

^ In case of an album (if you "redirect" it to another band/artist) usually the album cover disappears, it's necessary to reupload the cover once again (using Admin panel).
Was it the case I described?

I hope teams we'll do it. It's an old trick to delete improper band addition without disturbing M@X. Smile

I tried to that with an album, it didn't work. EmbarrassedConfused

sorry about that, it shouldn't have registered in any way.
An admin will have to delete that.

Mistakes happen. Thanks for your work.

BTW, as far as I know only the site owner (M@X) can remove band entries... Maybe someone could use this entry for another band/artist?

Yes, I first noticed the blank space in the New Artists list.

I don't know what you are seeing (or how), but it's this band page

^^^^ Regarding the posts above, I think it's a good solution to have splits on both artists' pages with notes on both. Clap I can't suggest anything better.

Formally splits might belong to Various artists, but I guess nobody would like this because in this case it will be hard to find splits and, as a result, sooner or later someone will add these albums to one of the bands' pages (or both) and in the end we'll get "triplications" instead of duplications.

Originally posted by projeKct projeKct wrote:

I don't know about the exact PA policy about split-releases, but if I remember correctly it's something like: if there are two artists listed on the front cover, the first one should be used as the "primary" artist.

Maybe Eugene knows better about this policy?
If memory serves me well, it's rather a kind of an unwritten rule than a policy, but it is apllied to mutual projects with all artists listed in the title involved, for example like this one.
Obviously splits are different beasts.

Would be that OK? Maybe you can suggest a better sentence? Thanks!

That's fine. Thumbs Up
