Progressive Biography

Born in Indonesia, May 7, 1990, I will never get a chance to enjoy the beautiful world of music in the 70s to the 90s (I heard this from many people, but I'm not sure!). Right now, I am living in Melbourne, studying at RMIT University, taking a pre-uni course and hopefully, I'll manage to get to the real university in February.

As for musical experience, I used to like, umm, boybands in my elementary school years, singing together with my friends, songs by N'Sync and stuff. Then, in middle school, my music form had changed to a more rockin' style, like Linkin Park, Limb Bizkit and stuff. As you can see, I was very mainstream in my earlier yaers. Then, the enlightment era came, when my father gave me a Yes album, titled Talk, back in 2000. So, if I'm not mistaken, it was my first progressive rock album, when I was 10 years old. In the year 8, I started to listen to "well-composed" songs, from great artists, like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and other guitar virtuosos, including Slash. This is really the point that changed my life, turned me into a guitar geek. Then, here comes the real turning point, about three years ago, when I had my guitar teacher for the first time. Surprise surprise, he taught me many Dream Theater songs, which, as you know, made me a DT fanboy. Maybe it is my mistake that I listen to Dream Theater way too much, that I didn't know many other bands beside them. On February 27, 2006, I went to Singapore, to watch Dream Theater concert, and I met Gatot, the grandmaster of Indonesian progressive rock. He asked me to join progarchive. So, here I am, from only ONE progressive rock band, I discovered zillion other bands, which are great, with no exception.

Some of my favorite albums in no order
. Dream Theater - Scene From A Memory
. Pain of Salvation - Be
. Yes - Close To The Edge
. Marillion - Misplaced Childhood
. Opeth - Still Life
. Ayreon - The Human Equation
. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
. Dream Theater - Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence (and possible every single one of their album)
. Liquid Tension Experiment - LTE 1 and 2

In conclusion, KEEP ON PROGGIN'!!
