CONCEIVING YOU

I really only got this for the previously unreleased song "The Piece Reflecting The Mental State Of One Of The Members Of Our Band", and it was a somewhat of a let down to be honest. Perhaps I'm expecting too much of a minor single, but with a long title like that I was hoping for something quite evocative. As it is, it seems the mood of the unnamed band member is quite frantic and manic, but doesn't develop much further than that. There's a single fast-paced riff that pretty much drives the whole song, but it's all too brief, and ends after only 3 minutes.

The other two songs are a couple of ballads from "Second Life Syndrome" ("Conceiving You" and "I Turned You Down"). Both songs are definitely good, but don't do as much for me out of context. The music is good, but there's isn't anything here worth purchasing the CD for if you have "Second Life Syndrome" - which you absolutely should, by the way!
