Very good accessible electronica from the 80's! Intially released under atist name "Peter Mergener & Michael Weisser", "Phancyful Fire" features quite sequenced compositions, in par with KLAUS SCHULZE and SYNERGY works. Very relaxing and enigmatic. A synthetic journey into crystal caves...

The German duo uses sequenced generated loops, cosmic sounds, flute and electric guitar to create evolving magic landscapes. I think in particular of "Sunny-ROM-Rise" and "Moonly- Twigs" which are exemplary pieces of trippy psychedelic soundscapes, with keyboards and C64-like impressions. The album ends majestically with "Fencing-Clouds", a floating tune reminiscent of PINK FLOYD and KRAFTWERK's "Radio-Activity", which lets the listener in the sky.

As one of the best release from SOFTWARE, "Phancyful Fire" should appeal to fans of electronic progressive, in particular TANGERINE DREAM and KLAUS SCHULZE addicts!
