like it or not, this record set the standard patterns of progressive metal since it's conception... from the great opening act "pull me under" to the magnificent closure of "learning to live", this complete and wide pallette of colors and sounds reflects the power of a young band. Every time i hear this record i found something memorable, and each piece deserves complete attention, perhaps the key thing in here is the once influential hand of former keyboardist Kevin Moore, avoiding the "heavy" side of the music trying to mix it with softer and more complicated sounds, however, the group ideology stand still hard and preserves the whole concept of a band reaching the impossible. After this record the prog music changed from something sacred to something divine and gave life to a whole new groups.
