2 stars Amon Düüll's first incarnation as an important psychedelic jam band is quite uncommercial and totally unlistenable. At the time Amon Düüll was political-musical community that broke out when members were divided between music and politics. The music-oriented members when out to form what would later be legendary Amon Duul II.

This album has it's historical importance on the kraut scene since one of the tracks in here is at the origin of the "krautrock" term as an english journalist originately took it from the "Mama Düül und Ihre Sauerkrautband Spielt Auf" track featured on this album. It's historical importance is also very related to the fact that this was one of the first, if not the first major "beyond the infinite" psychedelic exploration made in Germany.

Yes, "beyond the infinite psychedelic exploration" is the good expression, there are about 8 amateur musicians involved here playing terrible music, unconventionnal, totally free-form and out of any restriction, mind blowing stuff, added to a poor production. This is the kind of thing you will listen once a year just to enjoy the fun people used to get on those old years playing completely junky and unstructured "music". This album alternates heavy distorted moments (That will remind you the sound of a bad TV or radio reception), and accoustic freakness added to some intrigate electronic sound wizardry and tripped-out vocals in a tribal and primitive way.

Not recommend unless you're interested on the historical concept of this album, only for radical psychedelic fans or for those that think Ash ra tempel's "Seven Up" is easy-listening! I personally enjoy this!
