3 stars Wow.

Reading the reviews makes me sad. MMEB is one of those groups constantly reinventing music. One would expext that progrock-enthousiasts would embrace these kinds of experimental pop-records.

I think this album is very good and even consistent poprock-album. A lot happens here, there's hints of jazz, rock, pop, dance, classical.

Beautifully executed by Manfred Mann, Mick Rogers, John Lingwood en Maggie Ryder.

MMEB once made an album called Solar Fire and a lot of progrock-enthousiasts want Manfred Mann to repeat that album over and over again.

I'm glad he didn't and searched for new musical paths. This Masque is a great addition to any collection of great records. Maybe not the prog-masterpiece, so many people desire, but nonetheless a great album with a superb production and really nice instrumental parts featuring trumpet and sax.
