4 stars From the very first listening of this album I considered it to be good, as well as interesting one. The first impression relates to the music material it offers-A side of the record is in my opinion it's better part; the opener 'Wizard' starts the whole affair in acoustic tune and moderate tempo, followed by 'Traveller In Time' which combines hard rock rhythm with nice melodic line so leading us to heavy metal furore 'Easy Living'. My personal favourite of the whole album, 'Circle Of Hands' , closes this side of the record with Hensley's trenchant organ and strong lead and backing vocals. B side is less impressive, but it nevertheless contains some good numbers, particularly 'Paradise' . The second impression this album aroused is regarding the genre under which Uriah Heep had been classified, namely 'Art Rock'. Uriah Heep alongside King Crimson, Audience, Van Der Graaf or Gentle Giant ? However, I look at 'Demons and Wizards' as the best Uriah Heep release and as such an excellent addition to any rock collection - the word 'prog' has been omitted on purpose, no hard feelings !
