4 stars I'm not a huge T-rat fan, but to me this is where Fritz's personnality shows the best. Both Spartacus and Illusions on a double dimple are good, but I can never tell which is my favorite. Old Loves Die Hard has the beautiful piano work of Fritz, and he lets himself go at it. A Day in a Life might be the best single T'rat piece ever. Even the opener more poppy I Believe has more qualities than most vocal songs of Spartacus in my opinion. The Panic on 5th avenue jam is also entertaining at least. There are of course some less memorable such as the title track, but so do every single T'rat album. Old Loves Die Hard seems to be T'rat at their summum of personnal creativity. But then, it's certainly not an album you should get if you don't have all the King Crimson albums yet if you see what I mean... T'rat is quite obscure and that's not for no reason. I still suggest you buy Spartacus and Illusions before this one, but Old Loves Die Hard is in my opinion severly underrated. Especially when considering the lows towards which the band was heading (the not-so-entertaining Pompeii, the plain bad A La Carte, and the "unspeakable words" Russian Roulette). That's about it.
