3 stars Blackfield, Good band. I could definitely here PT on here, though. It seems to me like Wilson wrote this song more to get his simpler ideas out to help improve the PT albums. The songs however are beautifully crafted. For me, the highlights are "Open Mind" "Blackfield" "Pain" "Summer" and "Cloudy Now". I hear more Wilson on this album then Aviv. There are some good lyrics on here, mostly again from Wilson. Aviv just seems to be more the Emo of the group. This just seems to me as a classic case of TDS (The Debut Syndrome) in which artists display outstanding creativity, but have not yet defined there sound. Also, I'm not a big fan of Aviv's voice. It doesn't bother me, but I just prefer Wilson's singing. Over all, it's an OK album, if you love porcupine Tree, get it. If you want a nice album you can listen too in the background and then concentrate on, this is recommended. (Or if you see it at the store and see it, and just add to that growing whole in your wallet.)
