Reputedly inspired by Jethro Tull and led by guitarist/singer Paul Prisada and composer Nicolae Sava, Romanians Accent begun their journey in 1979 from Tulcea.They had a decent live activity and their music contained texts from the writings of Romanian writers, but their only recorded document from the 80's comes from a disc they shared with the Heavy Rock band PRO Musica in 1985 courtesy of Electrecord, the ninth part of the Formatii Rock series.Sava appears as a composer and Prisada sings and plays the guitar, also with Ionuț Ștefanescu on flute, Gygy Murariu on guitar, Carol Nucu Popa on keys, Florin Lefter and Mihai Moraru on drums/percussion and Gheorghe Pescaruș on blockflute.

Accent appear in this vinyl with four tracks with the first one ''Arborele'' flirting with a somewhat Symphonic/Fusion style ala CRUCIS with emphasis on the poetic lyrics and the changes in tempos regarding the guitar parts, featuring some atmospheric synths and acoustic lines in the background.But the true talent of the band is displayed in the following ''Rani in roua'', which is a monster, electric Symphonic/Folk Rock hymn with links both to the Italian and Teutonic school of Progressive Rock, dominated by the everlasting presence of the interplays between flutes, guitar and synthesizers over a dramatic, almost melacholic atmosphere.''Scrisoarea A XIII-A'' happens to be the longest track, clocking at 7 minutes, again some similarities with the early-80's Italian bands ala GUERCIA or MO.DO are evident, this time the sound is a bit jazzy at moments, but the music is more dense and virtuosic with impressive guitar melodies and solos along with interesting, symphonic keyboards and some heavier excursions with big time guitar riffs and deeper synths, not to mention the beautiful singing at the end of the track.''Sarpele'' starts with a narration and comes closer to a Prog/Folk Rock style with standard vocals and background flutes, before a parade of guitar rhythms, solos and keyboards with tempo changes and nice breaks displays a quite complex side of the band.

Great effort.This one escapes the narrow border of vinyl collectors, this is an album with true music value, produced in the 80's and sounding nothing like the age, beautiful, non-commercial and atmospheric Symphonic Rock with nice injections of Folk and Fusion.Strongly recommended...3.5 stars.
