DARWIN!

"Darwin", a concept album about evolution, is the second album by Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, released the same year than B.M.S.. Between these two records, the band gained in cohesion and creativity.

I always listened to "L'evoluzione" and "La conquista" as one long suite : the music is very rich ( in fact I suppose this band can even be considered as excessive by some people ), with very good melodies and varied moods ( from sweetness to violence ). I don't understand italian language, but the music is very evocative.

Then come five shorter songs with very different moods, from jazz to traditionnal italian folk, passing by rock, ballade and electronic music. Each one of these five songs is very good in his particular style.

Darwin is an excellent album. I just can't give 5 stars because a masterpiece, in my opinion, must be more coherent, and of course reserved to very few records.
