IMAGES AND WORDS

This is probably my favorite Prog Metal album. The songs are just fantastic, with some of the best melodies they have ever done. Take the Time is a very underappriciated gem in the Dream Theater library. Petrucci actualy plays melodically at times as opposed to shredding all of the time. Metropolis is great as well, a song unlike any I have ever heard. It does not have many refrains, but instead progress from great melody to great melody without really ever looking back. The ballads, Another Day and Wait for Sleep, are excellent and show that DT has a more sensitive side too. Essential listening for any Prog fan.
