5 stars This sounds like what Bauhaus would've sounded like if they had done a dark, post punk take on psychedelia and krautrock rather than new wave. The Oscillation is a dour band, who plow their way through this dark, modernised psychkraut with vicious energy and a sinister groove. Electronic effects sound as if trumpets to open for the beat of twisted psych by way of industrial, ever infectious. It's hard to hate their music. The whole swath of the first three tracks is just perfect, nailing the band's preferred mood, style, and power and grabbing a listener. From there, they never let go. There's never a dull moment, and you'll want to put this on repeat forever. Out of an excellent group of well playing musicians, Tom Relleen is the true anchor of the band, with his killer bass being the beat, the glue, the best part of a masterwork. Highly recommended, this is the groovy counterpart to the Legendary Pink Dots.
