5 stars I did not expect that. Everything in this album has to be evaluated very carefully. From the same line-up (bascially) that has accompanied Lino Vaireti in the last years, after releasing the weak "Prog Family", it comes a real strong album.

Palepolitana is more than the first true studio album of Osanna in more than 5 years. Is everything that made Osanna be Osanna and far more. The first CD, full of new music, is a comprehhensive approach to the Italian Progressive Rock in all its forms - the melodic, the hard, the italian chords and motives. The key tracks certainly are "Michelemma", "Anni di Piombo", "Palepolitana", the beautiful "Letizia" and "Ciao Napoli". The acoustic guitar of Lino is perfectly aligned with the most electric parts, and several melodies stick in your mind almost imediatelly.

The second CD is a re-recording of the classic masterpiece (yes, classic masterpiece i used both here) Palepoli. Although this could be a recipe for failure (even because the re-recording of some pieces in the previous album did not exactly work), the album was respectfully recorded. It maintain all what made Palepoli so huge and add a few more organic flow to it. Its modern without losing the 1970' feeling.

As Palepoli was a political message, Palepolitana still is. And probably because of so, the re-recording was necessary in the concept gestate by Lino Vairetti. And, my friends, it works.

Essential work to view Osanna, in these lates years, as a prolific group.
