2 stars Spunk rocked but very short ...

Good live performance by the early MAN band in 1972. This recordings are from the London Roundhouse where the legendary Greasy Truckers Party took place. They kicked off the evening followed by other bands like BRINSLEY SCHWARZ and HAWKWIND. An exclusive excerpt of two songs from their gig was taken here for this (very short) release. The complete evening was also published on three compact discs by EMI this year.

The first long track Spunk Rock has always been a standard during MAN live gigs. A song which lives on the interaction betweeen Leonard's and Jones' guitars. The very powerful unique drumming of Terry Williams is also to remark. The second track is Angel Easy, the opener of their release 'Do You Like It Here Now, Are You Settling In?' from the year before. A very good song with a happy flavour and performed very dynamically.

Recommended only for hardcore MAN collectors. Not because the music is bad - it isn't! But if you're interested in listening to the 1972 Greasy Truckers Party you should reach for the complete EMI release.
