3 stars City of echoes is more straight foreword than Pelicans early releases. The songs are more heavier than ever but less creative. There are some good songs on the album like the title track City of echoes, bliss in concrete,Space broken parts needed, lost in headlights, and A delicate sense of balance. I think pelican were going for something more heavier and song constructed more simpler for this album. I also noticed drummer Bryan Herweg shows his best performance on this album. A okay follow up to fire in our throats but not what i expected. Still a okay album, future releases will be better for Pelican. 3 stars
