4 stars 3.5 stars actually, if that means anything to you. After reading through the reviews from the collaborator guys, I expected this to be garbage. Well, it turned out to be not so bad. Lots of people kept saying that it sounded like Genesis, but I couldn't hear the similarities... I mean... Danca Dos Ventos tries to be prog, that's and for a record that's nothing more than another retro prog album, It's got all the elements of classic prog you'd expect - guitar tritone riffs, busy drum passges as well as a plenty of mellow'ish parts, that can best be compared to Tai Phong. Cinema Show's disc isn't 100% 70's throwback though - you can hear the 90's burning through the old fashioned sound. And that's the biggest problem. The parts that aren't 70's cliches sound a bit lazy and uninspired (the "you can hear they were running out of ideas" kind of uninspired), similar to electronic chillout records of that era (which I admittively despise). Anyway, if you want some solid, 90s made, classic prog, with a bit of the cheese of late 70's eurobands like Tai Phong, I'd recommed you to give it a listen.
