5 stars First solo effort from the best guitarist most progressive rock fans never heard (of), Hillage's first effort after he left the legendary band Gong was this one. He essembles most of his previous Gong bandmates as well as Dave Stewart (former bandmate from seminal prog band Khan-of which Hillage was also a former member) for this recording. The results are magical, filled with highly charged, energetic play by Hillage. The result is space rock with elements of jazz fusion. Hillage's distinctive spacy guitar is in top form. Pierre Moerlen and Mike Howlett tie it all up rhythmically and the keyboard and synth play by Giraudy and Blake is atmospheric bliss. For anyone into the Canterbury scene, Space Rock, jazz fusion or who would like to explore the roots of later conceptions such as new age, electronica and ambient musics (of which Hillage was a pioneer), this recording is an excellent start. This is every bit of a 5 star recording.
