4 stars A very cool album. It's quirky and strange, but very listenable. The songs are easy to follow. He took a very minimalistic approach to this album both in production and songwriting. A lot of the songs have simple themes and aren't overloaded with unecessary noise/craziness. On this album he displays a great knack for doing a lot with a little (the Fat Lady of Limburg is VERY basic, but still comes across as such a cool song). If you would like a taste of quality-yet-stripped-down music, check this out. This isn't his most innovative album, but I think it's listenability is top-notch. I have nothing really bad to say about it--it occupies a unique place in music, and nothing else really reminds me of it. Also, if you're a fan of indie music, you owe it to yourself to get exposed to this album.
