Paper Champion

Not as good as Effloresce, but features one of the best band’s tracks.

This EP (quite short – only 25 minutes) was released between their studio albums and is worth listening.

1. One Out of nONE (10/10). 5 minutes of extraordinary power and energy, full of tempo-changes and passages. Amazing track, especially “deceptive” ending, really inspired!

2. Paper Champion (7/10). A quiet track at the beginning. I like “negotiations” of 3 guitars – 2 guitars play riff on both channels, while the center guitar plays rhythm. The guitarist are just amazing and solid…

3. Drag The 'nal (5/10). It’s kind of an epic’s intro. Actually, the last three songs are the parts of one song.

4. Dead Dogs An'all Sorts (6/10). Very typical Oceansize’s track - take-off run structure and noise build- up.

5. As The Smoke Clears (7/10). The last part of the epic. The track is very alternative-like and a bit overextended, but quite good.

Well, not their best, but it’s worth listening (especially, track #1).
