5 stars This album is so good, I just can't imagine music without it. Everything's great here, even the 20 seconds of Sapphire Bullets Of Pure Love has its importance in this maelstrom of guitar, violin, bass, keyboards and (perfect) drums. My favorite track (all instrumentals) here is probably Miles Beyond, an ode to Miles Davis. You could hear some parts of Miles Davis's Mademoiselle Mabry (itself inspired by Hendrix's The wind cries Mary) on this track. The most impressive track (maybe the best) is One Word, almost 10 minutes of a pure jam between John McLaughlin and his mates (Goodman and Laird are marvellous violonist and bassist). And the title track is perfect too. I just said to you : nothing's wrong in these Birds Of Fire. A masterpiece. A must-have.
