I love when Progressive rock rocks. This is my second favorite Italian Symphonic album behind PFM's Per Un Amico, which by the way is another album that rocks. A lot of people really give this album a hard time, much like they do VDGG, and perhaps, there are similarities. Ys reminds me of the dark, moody, and dramatic element of VDGG circa H-to-He and Pawn Hearts. Sometimes you get the sense that things are falling apart as the complicated keyboard and drum interplay falls into a deconstructed dissonant rampage.
