5 stars Simply the best Maiden album money can buy.

All the merits their music had accumulated from The Number of the Beast onwards and which resulted in better and better albums peaked with this one here. Tight songs with power, not one unnecessary note and a treat from the first to the last song. If I had to single out one track it'd be ALEXANDER THE GREAT - this song has the right feel for its issue. I'd never thought one cut put the Story of Alexander to music without failing. Maiden taught me better.

With Seventh Son... two years later they became more commercial and four years after this best of all Maiden albums we had to witness the complete downfall of the legend (No Prayer for The Dying - very aptly titled!). And if there was a satisfying resurrection in the new millenium remains open to debate. But SOMEWHERE IN TIME is a clear case - 5 stars.
