3 stars The last Zeppelin album is their most underrated one. It's not a great album (it contains three awful songs, Hot Dog, Fool In The Rain and South Bound Saurez), but it deserves more than the usual bad reviews and ratings. I love Carouselambra, In The Evening and, in a certain way, I'm Gonna Crawl. The cover art is not really good, but is OK anyway. In vinyl, it was sold in a paperbag.

This is a strange Zeppelin album as well, very commercial in tone, recorded in ABBA's favorite studios (Polar), in Sweden. There are here the two only songs on which Page isn't credited, All My Love and South Bound Saurez. John Paul Jones is more present here (with a lot of keyboards and synths) than on the previous releases, especially Presence. The result ? More poppy and modern sound, not really the Led Zeppelin sound.

To conclude, an underrated and nice album, not unforgettable, but efficient. Too bad this is the last Zeppelin album...Bonham died one year later by drug & alcohol overdose.

This is their Swan Song. Their label's name was no joke, in fact.
