4 stars Superb band from Sweden delivering some of the best neo-prog i ever heared in last couple of years, with great musicianship and tight compositions. Heritage and visions is Galleon's second album from 1994, and what an album, great, full of intelligent arrangements and very good neo prog aproach. The album beggins with a strong piece named Lullubye, in fact i think is the best from here, very tight compositions with nice blend between smooth guitars and heavy ones, above that, the keyboard player Ulf Pettersson did a great job here. The vocalist Goran Fors who also is the bass player has a very good voice, he fits like a glove in this kind of music. The album flows pretty good from one track to another, living no doubts that Heritage and visions is a great album. Second track Sniper is a mid tempo neo-prog piece with excellent vocal parts, some mellow keys and guitars combined with strong bass and drums elements , next one the longest from here and quite at the same value with opening track is Permanent Vacation - an almost 17 minutes of real treat, neo-prog at it's best. The rest of the tracks are on par, and shows once again that Galleon has something to offer in this genre. Still underrated in my opinion, Galleon albums desearve much more attention, i think they play among the best neo prog available on prog market. This album desearve 4 stars without question, recommended.
