5 stars Wow! It's a rare thing when a band being in business for 30 years records an album, on which includes completely new, modern elements into theirs style without losing any of their former character. And this is the case of the album, Scott Higham acting like Rick Wakeman joining Yes and lifting Pendragon to the new level. For the first time Pendragon utilizes guitar riffs that hard and such noises, on the other hand never before Nick Barrett's vocals have been that interesting and Clive Nolan's solos have never been that rocky. But still, the music is very lyrical, even nostalgic, and even symphonic. It really needs skills to contain in single track like Indigo complicated opening, nervous middle part and end it smoothly with long, beautiful guitar solo. Then comes Eraserhead, keeping the tension that you would not expect from the authors of As Good As Gold. And then the music is truly symphonic with three part Comatose, shifting moods and telling a story in three parts, that are builded on contrast like andantes and allegros. Truly progressive album, and Pendragon are not simply copying Radiohead or Porcupine Tree. No, they are including the elements of their style into their own and make it really accessible without losing any novelty, the art that Yes or Pink Floyd have long forgotten. A masterpiece.
