4 stars EURASIA is a promising new fusion band. Though this not exclusively, as the distinctiveness evolves from diverse flirts with other prog styles. Well, at least when it comes to this debut album so far. Initially the guitar blatantly reminded me at Allan Holdsworth, but then suddenly a breathy voice in Italian language appeared ... okay, back to start anyway. Yes, this is fairly focussed on the vocals furthermore. One important point is that Moreno Delsignore's versatile singing perfectly matches the overall smoothy atmosphere. Diego Marzi's drumming is jazz styled all over the course and Simone Torriano varies a lot on rhodes, organ and standard piano.

Due to the second song Fatti I Fatti Tuoi the band makes a move with lively bass and drums. But Il Buio Nero then marks a fallback again into a slight lounge style. My favourite Vado Contro offers a stronger rock orientation with slicing electric guitars. The excellent Bispensiero comes with a proper Zeuhl touch close to Runaway Totem. Partially this sounds like an Italian SBB incarnation somehow. Stylistically rather unpredictable 'Il Mondo Arovescio' really has surprised me, a splendid album worth a try.
