5 stars Well well. I haven't reviewed something in a long time and lo and behold, The Dear Hunter is what i'm reviewing. I stumbled upon these guys, mainly, from word of mouth around my circle of musicians. So I searched their name in the archives, listened to The Lake and the River and absolutely fell in love with it.

Battesimo Del Fuoco is a nice vocal intro. I really liked the main line: The flame is gone but the fire remains. Great stuff. The Lake South, an intrumental orchestral piece, written and recorded, completely by Casey Crescenzo himself. Leads right into the epically fantastic City Escape. The beggining reminds A LOT of The Mars Volta. Then, it sounds a little like...Panic at the disco. My friend pointed that out. But it doesn't (thankfully) last for long.

This Casey Crescenzo went from lame emo to epic progressive music. I really like this guy and can't wait for his 7 CD concept to unfold. This music is heavy hitting, not in the literal sense, as it keeps you hooked with its beautiful catchy rhythms. Keep it up CASEY. Keep it up.
