2 stars No idea why they made such an album. It is unworthy of Clannad. It's not easy to imagine that the authors of Theme From Harry's Game, Newgrange, Tower Hill, Caislean Oir and The Wild Cry could fall so low. Most of the tracks from Sirius would be OK for a FM radio, provided all who's near are busy and nobody listens. A background noise for people who have a mechanical job to do seems to be the best possible use for the music of that sort. But there are two tracks on Sirius which give this undoubtedly failure album the right to existence. I mean Turning Tide and Skellig. Both are extraordinary and far beyond the rest. Turning Tide even causes me an implicit association with Robert Louis Stevenson's The Merry Men... Well, if the band could collect 35-45 minutes of material of the same quality, the year 1987 might become triumphant for Clannad. But instead, most of the songs on Sirius are from mediocre to lower than mediocre. What to say? Every good band has a right to make at least one bad album.
