2 stars It's no wonder that Triumvirats Spartacus is hailed as the high point in this copy-cat bands career. Keith Emersons keyboard riffs and runs and are practically cut and pasted by Jurgen Fritz into many of the tracks on this album. This particular album really should have been designated as a tribute to ELP. The saving grace though are the killer vocals sounded out by Helmut Kollen whose vocal style has been critisized somewhat. I think they are fantastic.

Spartacus is so cookie cutter typical of all of the good prog circa 1975, that when listening to it today again for the first time in 35 it kind of makes me angry that someone could even legally get away with such a blatant ripoff. yeah the musicians are skilled technicians allright. Unfortunately they left their own imaginations behind on Spartacus... Others have said before me, if you like ELP, You'll like Triumvirats Spartacus. The only thing missing here is Bennies cold meat pie.
