3 stars Now this is something different from Fairport: a collection of the work that they have done with Breton composer Alan Simon over a ten year period, from the Excalibur song cycle to the more recent Anne de Bretagne.

Being the work of one composer means that it has a much more cohesive feel than anything the band has done since the early 1970s. And, it has a much more progressive feel than anything the band has ever released, featuring a wider palette of music instruments thanks to the numerous guest contributions. In addition to the Fairports the album features contributions from Jethro Tull's Martin Barre and vocals by John Wetton (King Crimson and Asia) and Jacqui McShee (Pentangle). Particular stand outs include 'Celtic Dream', 'Lugh' and 'Marie La Cordeliere'
