AFTERGLOW

ANGLAGARD meets GENTLE GIANT! When I give five stars to this album I am moved more by its excellent flavor than by its originality. The sound was developped by others, but, what a good renaissance! I don´t agree the short timing must be a problem. There you have THE EGYPTIAN KINGS, Almagest (39:43); ADRIAN BELEW, Side Three (35:23); ULVER, Shadows of the Sun (39:54); BEYOND TWILIGHT, For The Love Of Art Ant The Making (37:52); CYNIC, Traced in Air (32:54). And, if you go backwards in history: RUSH, 2112 (38:48); YES, Close to the Edge (37:56); MIKE OLDFIELD, Ommadawn (36:21); PFM, Per un Amico (34:06); LE ORME, Felona y Sorona (33:39). Who of us would despise all these jewels for a short term? There are lots of 60 minutes´length CDs nowadays that have 40 minutes more than they deserve. So, here´s my opinion: a great and enjoyable work, and of course an excellent addition to any prog music collection.
