4 stars Despite the disco/dance leanings of Chain Lightning, Hand Over Fist, Anagram---or perhaps, I hate to say, because of them---I really like this album. The music is tight, the lyrics are superb as usual, and the whole album fits together so well as a whole. It's a quality listen the whole way through. Some serousness here and there (The Pass, War Paint) as well as lots of fun (Chain Lightning [that's nice!], Anagram) give this album a good mix and make it a very interesting listen. Not only that, but every part of it is polished prog that somehow retains a gritty rock 'n roll attitude. Next to Moving Pictures, this may just be Rush's best album. A great comeback from a band that never really left.
