5 stars The fourth album by Genesis, being in my consideration the best one of their career. There were some tensions in the recording of this one, and also some of the material rejected of Hacket was used for his solo masterpiece voyage of acolite, in fact in some point he almost left the band, but was convinced to stay. Lyrically, doesn't have hidden meaning or too deep, but the things that are mentioned are really good messages and always with a religious touch, but never exaggerated. Obviously the voice of Peter Gabriel does a really good job in any song and left his mark adding more melodies to the music. Musically, is where I loved it, I considered it really consistent and more innovative than the following album, although I considered Selling england as the more complex and elaborated in general, that one is not consistent during all album, also I have to remark that I always loved Suppers Ready, and I considered it The best song of Symphonic prog of all times, just the way that it takes for every passages is so hypnotic, you never get bored of hearing it, because is evolving every time. A masterpiece of Prog rock and a must to have album for every prog listener.
