2 stars From how fast this disappeared from stock after it arrived over at The Laser's Edge, I thought it might be a live recording of the second coming complete with a syringe of holy water. You can have my copy for a buck plus shipping if you can't wait for Him to reappear. I probably will never listen to it again since I have so many better albums. As long as I DO have it, I WILL occasionally look at the beautiful cover artwork. Direct stylistic ripoff of Roger Dean but gorgeously done. You'll like it! You MAY even like the music. It sounds like this: 33% Meddle; 33% In the Wake of Poseidon; and 34% Bridge of Sighs. Not bad records to emulate I guess but the MAJOR malfunction was literally in the equipment... or maybe the engineering choices. The SOUND quality of the recording was borrowed from yet another work: "Wild Thing" by the Troggs... dubbed to cassette tape from the earphone jack of a 1967 AM transistor radio. Imagine that. I could probably enjoy these compositions, but I never understood where young bands got this Low-fi fascination, particularly with material like this where it has no appropriate history. I like psychedelia and adore prog but I HAVE to be able to hear what's going on with the instruments in order to enjoy it enough to listen more than a time or two. Hey I'm old... Call me deaf.
