I find it amusing that Kansas 'fans' have such a hard time with this record, simply because Steve Walsh doesn't feature on it. For the style of music Kerry Livgren's songwriting was leaning to, John Elefante had a perfect voice. Songs were shorter, poppier, and frankly, better than anything from the 2 previous albums. This progress was carried on on the next Kansas outing, Drastic Measures.
