2 stars This is the first posthumous live album from the master.

The least I can say is that the track list from this work is rather bizarre. All the great classic have been ignored except ''Foxy Lady'' and I really wonder why this release was put on the market as such.

The Jeffery-Kramer team used us to better things (''Cry Of Love'', ''Rainbow Bridge''). The Isle Of Wight concert is of course not the best of Jimi's brilliant career but it seems that to have selected those specific numbers is a big professional mistake IMO; but none of the musicians (Cox and Mitchell) nor the producer (Jeffery) or the engineer (Kramer) did the selection.

The context of course was that Jimi died a year ago at the time of release to ensure full cashing in. No less than three studio albums and two live ones will be released in about two years time after his death!

What is even less understandable is that the running order of the original concert has been completely messed up. Only ''In From The Storm'' is correctly placed since it was the closing number at Wight.

This album is an historical mistake which will be compensated with the full concert recordings in 2002 under the name of ''Blue Wild Angel''. No need to mention that this is the one to grab if you are interested in the last UK concert from the man (the DVD is even better of course). To SEE Jimi is always a great moment of music.

Two stars.
