5 stars This album just kicks ass... Neal is at his peak as a musician on this album and the people supporting him on these tracks did just simply a great job :)

I heard a lot of people compare Testimony with "Snow" and I must say I find Testimony both more appealing musically and far more authentic as well. This record is more Neal than records before the same way as Neal is probably more himself than before he made these changes. Neal states in his tour diary one day that he cried at each performance so far (at different songs) - the musicians reading this will probably know what that means concerning him and this material here - and you can feel it. Also - to be blunt - while SB manages to annoy me during certain long passages at times, I didn't have that happen during Testimony once (which is quite a feat for a 2 CD epic). Oh - and while Nick is certainly great on drums - Mike&Neal are just pure magic together! There's just so much on this album musically - like the twisted "Doorway" quote just after "I am willing" in "In the middle"... I love it.

I don't know where the problem is with some people regarding the lyrics... music is an emotional message and with some artists who are true to themselves and manage to open more than just the musical expression of their feelings to the public, the source of these is of course obvious in the lyrics to a smaller or greater extend. I heard noone make a fuzz about various Pain of Salvation lyrics, but then, they aren't really concerning issues that some people have like they have them with the faith they probably grew up around - but hey - it's nothing a decent therapy can't solve ;-)

p.s.: Get the limited edition - "Tuesday afternoon / Find my way back home" is totally awesome :) p.p.s.: If I confused you with too many words above, here the short version: Album. Buy. Now. ;-)
