5 stars The Wall, released in 1979, is the eleventh studio album released by Pink Floyd. The Wall is a concept album that takes a look at the life of Pink, Pink is a depressed rock star who built a metaphorical wall around himself due to the many traumas of his life, be it the fear of what the war could do to him, his dad dying in the war, abusive teachers, and a couple of other things. This leads to him completely avoiding all human contact, and thus the metaphorical wall is completely built. He gets drugged up and goes on stage where he hallucinates that hes at a Neo-Nazi rally where he proceeds to attack minority groups, this makes him feel guilty and makes him tear down the wall, and hes back in the real world, now having to deal with the consequences that will surely follow. And that is where the story ends. I find this to be a great story, and I enjoyed every second of reading the lyrics and listening to the music. Definitely a essential album in any prog or classic rock collection 5/5.
