5 stars Very hard to dispute what many of my prog brethren have stated here. Nonetheless, I would like to share my own point of view because Camel was one of my first loves, and for the record this is the record that made me a convert. Maybe it's the adoption of a more Canterbury sound (woodwinds). I don't know. But this was the one, although I had already heard M and MM before (I bought SG after this).

The opening track is stellar as far as I'm concerned, and is what Camel has always been for me. Prog with a certain melodiuous touch, which had me hooked as of day One. The rest is pure gravy, possibly because of the slightly jazzy touch (with a touch of Eno, maybe it's my memories of Enossifications from TLLDOB) which are acting up here) which brings it (for me) onto a higher plane of being. Anyway, five stars all the way, (including the more droll tracks)
