RUSH in the eighties is definitely not something I like; probably I need to see their records more as Pop music instead of looking for the good old seventies Hard Rocky Progressive style. Neil PEART is with absolutely no doubt one of the greatest drummers of all time and in this album, there is nothing really remarkable of his playing, it is as if he was some random guy with a couple of toms but very bored and with a total lack of inspiration, and if I start talking about Geddy LEE's bass lines and Alex LIFESON's riffs it is the same story.

Clearly RUSH was entering into a place that I usually call "making music for money and not for love". There is not even a pale shadow of what these guys were capable to do. This is a perfect example of a record that is only to very deep and devoted fans. I could never rate it with anything above 2 stars.

SONG RATING: Distant early warning, 2 Afterimage, 2 Red sector A, 3 The enemy within, 2 The body electric, 3 Kid gloves, 2 Red lenses, 2 Between the wheels, 2

AVERAGE: 2.25

PERCENTAGE: 45

ALBUM RATING: 2 stars
