2 stars The beginning of a complete sellout!

I never understood why everyone is so fanatic about this TD album. Why is everyone calling this "progressive"? It's more "regressive" to me. There is absolutely nothing intriguing here, just a couple of easy listening melodies (the pseudo Kraftwerk tune at the end of Force Majeure), some easy going sequenzing and far too much Froese on guitar.

The older work, albums like "Atem", "Phaedra" were showing a band evolving, searching, exploring. "Ricochet" started ringing an alarmbell with me (Froese on guitar) but was still excellent... Even "Cyclone" had very good moments ecxept the short track "Rising Runner"...

FArce Majeure I called it from the start. OK the main piece has a couple of moments but the 2 tracks on side 2 are just completely uninteresting. I could as well buy an album by Mud or The Rubettes... I sold most of their 80s LPs I had and am still concentrating on TD as I learned to know them back in 1974... This album to me is pure commercialism.
