FEAR OF A BLANK PLANET

This release was my introduction to Porcupine Tree. SInce I picked this up I have purchased 3 other CD's of theirs. I find I return to listen to this one the most. However, I have yet to find that any P Tree albums are perfect- they just seem to have weak points, to my ear at least. On this release, I find myself losing interest along about the time of the last 2 tracks and I usually skip them and skip back to the monster of "Anesthetize". Wow! This track is worth the price of admission to the entire album. It has become one of my favorite prog epics and I never tire of it. I won't discuss it in detail, this has been done by many others before me, but I will say that it holds it's ionterest after MANY listens for me. As far as the album as a whole, it is a solid 4 stars, like every Porcupine Tree release is for me. Man, I'm still waiting for their "perfect" album.
