4 stars New album of excellent Georgian (country in Caucasus) world fusion band is as sunny and fresh, as morning breeze in eastern Black Sea coastal town Poti. This time unique Georgian trio collaborates with dozen of greatest Black Sea (and around) region folk/world fusion musicians brewing their sparkling sunny mix of pulsating jazzy rhythm section and multicultural folklore tradition. And, most important, this mix sounds extremely modern and fresh!

Caucasus/Crimean/Eastern Balkans component is dominating there, but it is such well balanced by very jazzy bass and percussion, that result mix could be named Black Sea jazz fusion, no other way.

There are some really great names between collaborators on this album. Theodosii Spasov is best kaval player in Bulgaria, released dozen of albums and played all around the world. Accordionist Nariman Umerov is a member of Tatar Trio, well known Ukrainian ethno-jazz band. Austria-based Indian tabla player Jatinder Thakur supported Dhafer Youssef in his tour. Anatolie Stefanel is violinist and leader of Moldova's best ethno-fusion band Trigon.

If some one ever heard Georgian traditional singing, then you know what a miracle it is! Multilayered, a- capella, with fantastic harmonies and voices! You can find some influences of this on The Shin album. Besides of Indian tabla music, Balkan hot dance rhythms, Transylvanian accordion, and even re-worked Ukrainian Jews klezmer influenced extremely popular song "Wow Odessa" ( singing in Ukrainian and Russian with all possible heavy accents).

This album is not the one for jazz fusion purists. But if you're interested in breath of fresh air, sparkling glass of good wine-like world fusion, framed in tasteful and professional elegant jazzy frame, try this!
