FOR YOUR PLEASURE

Along with their debut, this is my favorite release by Roxy Music. At this time, Roxy Music had yet to be taken over and turned into a more Bryan Ferry "romantic" group. They had Eno, and they had weirdness, weird time changes, cool vocal, far-out lyrics, in fact, they had everything to make a perfect prog-rock band. Although I enjoy almost all Roxy Music, including their more "disco-ish" albums, their first few albums (maybe up to Siren), really showcase their avant-garde skills. The only track on here that is not highly enjoyable to me is "Do the Strand", the opener, which is good but I have heard it too many times, and it gets on my nerves. The rest of the release features darker tracks than the opener such as the classic electro-beat "The Bogus Man" and the so-so cool "For your Pleasure" and "Gray Lagoons". I'm not sure if I can give this a 5 star rating, but it is at least a 4 1/2 star release. So I will give it 4 stars.
