5 stars This is quite different to their earlier releases, in that it was a lot more happier.

Yes, their earlier material was a wee bit darker (it was still happy), but these songs are mega happy and always put me in a good mood.

I again think this album is a masterpiece of modern prog, making older bands feel insuperior.

1. The Good Don't Last Long - This song is just amazing. From the beautiful string quartet playing, to the amazing vocal harmonies, and the instrumental work of Gods, this song really is one amazing piece of music. This song always puts me in a good mood, and I'll give you 2 examples. One time I was in school, in a class where I have the most boring and dull teacher ever. Being in his class for over an hour, I knew I needed to cheer up, so this song did just the thing. The other example happened today. My dog, who was 14, who I grew up with and love like a best friend, died just today (he was a Yorkshire Terrier, named Toady), and singing this song over and over again, hepled me through the trauma. Wow, a very special song. The ending is also incredibly beautiful. 10/10

2. In The Mouth Of Madness - Amazing contrapuntal intro. Amazing song, incredibly cathcy and just amazing. I also love the noisy solo bits. 10/10

3. Cakewalk On Easy Street - A more kick ass version of Spock's Beard. Great chorus. I also love the Smashing Pumpkins like breakdown. 9/10

4. June - An amazing ballad with a beautiful chorus. I love the toned down sound that these guys achieved. 10/10

5. Strange World - A strange song with some strange lyrics. Again, another great chorus. 9/10

6. Harms Way - A very eclectic side of the Beard. Some amazing instrumental sections. I remember listening to this song while washing my bin one day, so I'm not the biggest fan of this song, haha 9/10

7. Flow - The intro of this song is so amazing, I immediately learnt how to play it after I heard it. This is one of those songs that is so amazing, you need to hear it twice to really undertand it's greatness. Each section more interesting than the next. 10/10

CONCLUSION: One amazing album from one amazing band. If you haven't bought any Neal Morse material, then start with this, great way to go.
